At albertoromeroruiz.com, protecting your data is a priority. Here I explain — without small print or lawyer-speak — what data I collect, what I use it for and how I protect it.

What data I collect
Only the email address you give me when you subscribe to my mailing list (and your name, if you choose to give it to me). I don't ask for anything else because I don't need anything else.
If you get into the free resources (at /en/resources), I also keep a record of which resources you open, which pages of this website you visit while your access is open, and where you came from. Only for people who confirm their email and agree to it, and only within this website: it never leaves my server or gets matched with anything external.
Legal basis for processing
I process your data because:
- You give me your consent when you subscribe.
- It is necessary to comply with legal obligations.
What I use it for
- Sending you emails a couple of times a week with stories, reflections and lessons about self-knowledge and personal growth.
- Letting you know about projects, sessions or services I offer, in case they interest you.
- Managing the website's subscriber list.
- If you get into the resources: giving you access to all of them for six months and understanding what interests you, so I can write about what actually helps.
How long I keep it
- For as long as you stay subscribed to the list.
- Until you ask me to delete it.
- For the periods required by law.
Security and third parties
I take every necessary measure to prevent the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised access and theft of data. For everything to work, your data may be processed by providers acting as data processors:
- Hosting: Contabo.
- Email marketing: Substack.
- Sending the access email for the resources: Google Workspace.
These providers comply with data protection regulations. I don't sell, rent or hand over your data to third parties for commercial purposes. Ever.
Cookies
This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no trackers. The only thing that may appear is a technical cookie from Google's anti-spam when you use the subscription form.
If you confirm your email to get into the resources, I set two first-party cookies for six months: one that keeps you in (without it you'd have to ask for the link every time) and one that only says your access is open. With them I record your activity on this website as explained above. If you want me to stop, delete them or write to me and I'll erase your data.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability whenever you want by writing to me at alberto.romero.ruiz@gmail.com.
And if you simply don't want any more emails from me: at the bottom of every email there's a link to unsubscribe. One click and you're out, no questions, no drama.
